Each candle vessel is one of a kind. Choose your patina family: Virunga, Grigio Celeste, Space Oddity or Pelagic and you’ll receive a unique piece within that surface language. No two vessels are identical, but each carries the unique character of its patina family.
Choose your vessel from five signature patinas:
- Virunga – earthy greens with copper undertones, evoking volcanic landscapes.
- Grigio Celeste – pale watercolor blue with a warm cognac interior.
- Space Oddity – cratered matte black with bronze highlights.
- Pelagic – organic, deep-sea inspired textures with sculptural asymmetry.
- Basalt Metallic – a sleek, scorched-bronze surface with a modern, elemental feel. (coming soon)
Patinas such as Space Oddity and Pelagic produce dramatic volcanic textures during firing. While every vessel is carefully inspected and hand-finished in the studio, these kiln-formed surfaces may retain small ridges or sharper mineral points.
These features are part of the character of the patina and reflect the natural behavior of the glaze in the kiln.
-
- Trim wooden wick to 1/8–3/16 inch before each burn.
- Allow the melt pool to reach the vessel edge on the first burn to ensure even performance.
