Our Pour-to-Order candles pair two elements that define the Otts & Kulcha world: atmosphere and patina.
Atmosphere is the fragrance: the emotional environment of the object. Market, Cleared, and Night Market each evoke a different mood, from sunlit gatherings to quiet focus to the layered scents of an evening out.
Patina is the ceramic surface of the vessel. Each candle is poured into a handmade ceramic container finished with one of our experimental glazes: Virunga, Grigio Celeste, Space Oddity, or Pelagic. These surfaces are the result of kiln chemistry and mineral reactions, giving every vessel its own character.

The process is simple but deliberate.
The finished porcelain vessel is prepared in the studio, a natural beeswax blend is measured and heated, our non-toxic fragrance oil is added at the proper temperature, and a wooden wick is set by hand. The candle then cures slowly before it is packed and shipped.
The result is something slightly different from a typical candle purchase. Each piece is both a fragrance object and a small ceramic artifact — a functional introduction to the textures and material language that run through Otts & Kulcha's sculptural work.
A candle may be the smallest object in the studio, but it carries the same philosophy as the larger pieces: atmosphere, surface, and form working together to create a distinct environment.
